Our Story

Staffan is born and raised in Saltsjöbaden outside Stockholm. But he moved up to the Swedish mountains, Sälen and Åre, direct after school. He worked as a ski instructor, alpine ski coach and ski school manager for more than 20 years. After some years as a Hotel Manager at Storliens Högfjällshotell and Tott Hotell in Åre Staffan resaddle and gave his life to Byggnadsvård, windows and paint.

Since 2005 Staffan has been dedicated to the craft of building preservation. From grand castles to humble cottages. Countless buildings have been lovingly painted and restored by his hand. Specialising in windows. Hundreds of frames have been carefully brought back to life one by one. With a keen eye for colour, many homes, both inside and outside, have been transformed.

During 2014 and 2024 Staffan worked as CEO for Kulturhantverkarna Färg AB, Gysinge Centrum för Byggnadsvård AB and Byggnadsverk Färgfabrik AB. Thanks to his wide experience from practical painting and paint production in the factory, and his knowledge of raw materials and components in the paint and how they work, he can provide reliable advice regarding painting work in general and paint in particular.

Now, when he is only 63 and a ”jobbonär”, he is focusing on restoring every window frame in the world and to help houses get the best paint :-).
